The Coronavirus pandemic has created a unique situation for all of us. Driver Hire has been contingency planning since mid-February, and all of our teams have been worked together to ensure that we can continue to provide the service you need.

With offices nationwide and over 35 years’ industry experience, Driver Hire is completely aware of the crucial role of the logistics sector in keeping key supplies and our economy moving. We are also as committed as ever to maintaining the high standards of service that you’ve come to expect from Driver Hire.

Working Safely – Candidate Advice

Where possible, maintain 1.5 m social distancing from other workers and members of the public. Where this is not possible, follow the guidance of the client.

To help facilitate social distancing, shift times may vary. Be sure to check your booking confirmation – even if you have worked for the customer previously.

Loading and deliver

You may find that these processes have been adapted to facilitate social distancing. Please ensure that you follow any instructions provided.

If you must travel in a shared vehicle sit to the other occupant rather than behind the other. In shared vehicles ensure good ventilation, for example by opening windows where appropriate.

Many companies are trying to ensure minimal or no contact deliveries. Please follow revised delivery procedures as communicated by the customer.

Hygiene matters. Wash hand often – and regularly clean the vehicle. If you are declined access to welfare facilities, please inform both the client and your local Driver Hire office.
